Shinn Named to Academic All-District Team

Nov. 6, 2003

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Senior San Diego State women's soccer defender Annette Shinn was named to the 2003 Academic All-District VIII University Women's Soccer Team. A second team honoree, the biology major has a 3.69 GPA.

Shinn has contributed to San Diego State's outstanding defense this season, which has recorded seven shutouts, a team high since 1999, and scoreless streaks reaching as high as 299:54, the longest by an Aztec team since 1998.

The Aztecs (7-10-2, 2-3-1 MWC) completed their season with a 2-1 loss to UNLV in a Mountain West Conference Quarterfinal Wednesday evening in Salt Lake City, Utah. Shinn's two shots tied her season high in that category.

Shinn was one of only three MWC women's soccer players to be thus honored, with all three making the second team. The other two players were Amber Brower of Utah and Aleisha Rose of Brigham Young, both midfielders.
