SAN DIEGO - Becca Ur, a center from Cabrillo High School in Lompoc, Calif., signed a National Letter of Intent to attend San Diego State in the fall of 2004, head water polo coach Carin Crawford announced Monday.
Ur scored 87 goals last season to lead Cabrillo High to a 26-6 record and the CIF Division IV finals February. Becca also recorded 41 assists and 68 steals in her junior season. She earned All-CIF honors last year and has earned all-league honors the past two seasons. Ur has totaled 134 goals in her prep career to go with 112 steals and 70 assists.
Becca played with the Santa Barbara Paradise club team over the summer and helped lead the squad to the 2003 Junior Olympic title, where she was named honorable mention All-American.
SDSU's water polo team has finished in the top eight nationally in each of its nine seasons as a varsity sport, including a 21-12 record and a sixth-place finish in 2003.
