-The Records: SDSU looks to rebound from a 66-52 loss in its first exhibition game last week against NAIA-power Vanguard. The Aztecs have split their two exhibitions each of the last four seasons, including 2002, when SDSU beat the Basketball Travelers (72-65), before falling to the West Coast All-Stars (74-70).

Nunawading Spectres, meanwhile, will be in their fifth game of a six-date exhibition tour throughout California. The team has yet to win any of its first three games, falling to Chico State (90-74), UC Davis (92-74) and Cal State Stanislaus (78-75). The Spectres face Pepperdine Saturday before traveling down to San Diego.

-In The RPI: In the 2003-04 preseason strength of schedule report released by the WBCA on Oct. 21, SDSU's schedule is ranked 152nd of the 324 NCAA Division I teams.

-SDSU Head Coach Jim Tomey: Tomey (Michigan '81) is in his second season at San Diego State after taking over the Aztec helm on April 9, 2002. His career and Aztec head coaching record is 9-18.

-Nunawading Head Coach Lisa Townsend: Townsend is the head coach of the Nunawading Spectres and is assisted by Lyndon Dale.
