SAN DIEGO - San Diego State junior Indra Erichsen and senior Katalina Romero, ranked 44th nationally, were eliminated from the Rivera/ITA Women's All-American Qualifying Championships following an 8-5 loss to Tulane's Jenny Kuhn and Julie Smekodub on Wednesday in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
The Aztec pair won their first match of the tournament on Tuesday, to advance to the round of 16. The four doubles teams that advance to the semifinal round earn positions in the main draw of the grand slam championship, beginning on Thursday.
The loss was the first of the season for Erichsen and Romero, which are now 4-1 this fall.
San Diego State will be back in action Oct. 23 when the Aztecs serve as a co-host for the ITA Western Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.
