OAKLAND, Calif. - San Diego State's women's crew team completed their second 6K race in two days on Sunday in the Women's Open 8+ race at the Head of the Estuary in Oakland, Calif. The four-team race saw SDSU finish 1st (21:15.65), 2nd (21:29.34) and 4th (23:08.90). The Cal lightweight boat finished 3rd (22:15.09).
"Racing in two 6Ks back-to-back helped advance our cardiovascular endurance," head coach Jennifer Zebroski said.
"It was a good experience for (novice coxswain) Caitlin Carrion," Zebroski added. "Today, she called a better race than yesterday and she was able to gain more experience in steering a different course and dealing with the pressures of the race."
San Diego State continues its fall season at the Newport Fall Rowing Festival in Newport Beach, Calif., next Sunday.
