USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The San Diego State women's soccer team (7-8-1, 2-2-0 MWC) shut-out Air Force (6-9-1, 0-4-0 MWC) in a Mountain West Conference women's soccer match Friday afternoon, 1-0.

Forward Becky Prilaman scored the only goal of the game at the 77:23 mark. She ran to the near post, where forward Kim Castellanos' left side corner kick was going, and headed it in. The goal was Prilaman's second of the season and Castellanos earned her first assist of 2003.

Goalkeeper Stephanie Pearson recorded four saves in earning her sixth shutout of the season, tied for the MWC lead in that category with Wyoming goalkeeper Lori Scheider.

"They had a lot of scoring opportunities," Pearson said. "Air Force came out fired up. They dominated for a while. We hung on until the end."

Defender Noelle Jouglet cleared one ball that the Falcons had passed to the middle and away from Pearson and had a shot hit the post.

"(Midfielder) Alexis Solovij organized the defense and cut out problems," head coach Chuck Clegg said.

Air Force out-shot SDSU, 15-9, and held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.

San Diego State remains in the mountains and plays at New Mexico (1-9-3, 0-3-0 MWC entering tonight's home match against UNLV) at noon MST on Sunday.
