Aztec quarterback Adam Hall entered the SDSU career top 10 in two categories tonight with his 291 yards passing and 276 yards of total offense. Hall moved from 11th to eighth on the career passing charts with 4,753 yards and from 11th into a tie for eighth with Marshall Faulk in total offense with 4,589 yards.
The Aztecs posted a season high for passing yards in a game with 354, beating the previous best of 352 against BYU ... SDSU had 255 yards passing in the first half, which is better than the team's game total for passing in all but one of its previous games this season ... the 393 yards of total offense is the second best by the Aztecs in a game this year.
Aztec redshirt sophomore flanker Robert Ortiz posted a career high for catches with 10 and yardage with 89 (previous 3 catches, 36 yards). Ortiz entered the game with 7 catches for 79 yards on the season. His 10 catches tonight tie the team's single-game high in 2003 (Jeff Webb - 10 vs. EWU, BYU).
The Aztecs' TD: SDSU's touchdown in the second quarter was the team's first since the third quarter of the BYU game on Oct. 4 ... the TD is the Aztecs' first against New Mexico since the first quarter of the 2001 meeting, a 20-15 Lobo victory ...the touchdown was the first allowed by the Lobo defense in its opponents' previous five trips to the redzone, a span of three games.
For the eighth straight game, the Aztec defense held its opponent off the scoreboard on its opening possession of the game.
