Men's Golf Fifth After First Day At Tucker Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - San Diego State is tied for fifth with a score of 588 after the first two rounds of action at the William H. Tucker Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico. SDSU shot 293 in the day's first round and followed up with a 295 to finish at +12 at the par-72 course. #8 Arizona State leads the tournament after the first day at -8, followed by #20 New Mexico at +2 in the 20 team field. SDSU is tied with Texas A&M and Stanford for fifth and is only two strokes behind #7 UNLV.

Aaron Choi, Mark Warman, and Aaron Goldberg all shot 146 on Friday and are tied for 20th overall. Warman and Goldberg began the day with rounds of even par 72, and both followed it up with a pair of 74's. Choi tied the Aztecs' low score with a 72 in Friday's second round, while shooting 74 to open the day. The Aztecs' used Andrew Scott's 75 in round one and Jamie Puterbaugh's 75 in the second round.

The tournament concludes with the third and final round on Saturday morning.
