After traveling across the country last weekend, 32 members of the San Diego State women's track and field team are staying closer to home when they head to Cal State Northridge Saturday for a meet at the Matador Track & Field Complex.
The Aztecs' competition includes student-athletes from UNLV, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State Los Angeles, Cal State Northridge and USC, which placed third at the 2002 NCAA championships. The meet will officially get underway Friday with the men's and women's hammer throw, however, SDSU will only compete on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.
This weekend's meet, which is a non-scoring event, will be a preview of next week's Cal-Nevada championships, slated for the SDSU Sports Deck, April 11-12.
