SAN DIEGO - The 32nd-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team did not drop a set in winning all three doubles matches and all six singles matches en route to a 7-0 win over Wyoming in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The Aztecs outscored the Cowgirls 24-3 in the three doubles matches and dropped just 35 games in 12 singles sets to improve to 15-4 overall and 4-1 in Mountain West Conference competition. Wyoming is now 7-8 overall and 0-2 in league play.
This marked the second MWC shutout for San Diego State this season, having disposed of Air Force 7-0 earlier this month. The Aztecs have now won 10 of their last 11 matches.
All six players in the SDSU lineup recorded victories in both singles and doubles play. Particularly impressive was Katalina Romero, who teamed with Patricia Graf to post an 8-0 win in doubles play and then posted a 6-0, 6-1 win in number three singles.
Next up for the Aztecs is a trip to the mountains, as SDSU will play at Brigham Young on Friday and at Utah on Saturday.
