SAN DIEGO - Lindsey Hedberg and Indra Erichsen each won their seventh consecutive singles match as the 30th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team won its eighth straight match with a 6-1 victory over Loyola Marymount on Monday afternoon at the SDSU Courts.
The Aztecs improve to 13-3 on the season while the Lions saw their six-match winning streak snapped and fell to 7-7 on the season.
San Diego State cruised to the doubles point by winning all three matches. The 32nd-ranked duo of Silvia Tornier and Indra Erichsen posted an 8-5 victory in number one doubles. The Aztecs also received victories from Katja Karrento and Katalina Romero at number two and Hedberg and Sarah Sansom at number three.
In singles action, the Aztecs won five of six matches, including four in straight sets. Tornier, Hedberg, Erichsen and Romero all recorded straight-set victories to clinch the match.
In number six singles, Patricia Graf rallied from one-set down to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. Loyola Marymount got on the board when Diana Vinis defeated Karrento, 2-6, 6-3, (11-9).
The Aztecs are back in action this weekend when San Diego State travels to Las Vegas for three Mountain West Conference matches in three days. San Diego State will play at UNLV on Friday, before taking on Colorado State on Saturday and Wyoming on Sunday.
