San Diego - The San Diego State baseball team, under first-year head coach Tony Gwynn, will open its 2003 home schedule with a contest against South Alabama on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 3:00 p.m. at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The Jaguars are ranked 20th in the nation this week by Collegiate Baseball.
The contest will mark Gwynn's first home contest as the head coach of the Aztecs. All fans in attendance will receive a special laminated ticket commemorating the event.
Tickets for the home opener as well season and single-game tickets for all SDSU home contests this season are on sale now at the SDSU Ticket Office at Gate G at Qualcomm Stadium, or by calling (619) 283-SDSU.
In other baseball news, there have been time changes for two of San Diego State's away contests this season. On Feb. 23, the game at Miami will start at noon (EST) due to the Aztecs' travel plans. On March 8, SDSU's contest at UC Irvine has been moved to a 4:00 p.m. start.
