Los Angeles - San Diego State took first place in all 11 events on Friday and defeated Loyola Marymount, 130-46. Ten different individuals claimed wins in their respecitve events for SDSU with freshman Emliy Schmied winning twice. The victory improved the Aztecs' dual meet record to 3-8 on the year.
Schmied, a first-year Aztec from Woodinville, Wash., won both the 200 individual medley (2:22.21) and 100 butterfly (59.28). She was also a member of the Aztecs' 200 freesstlye relay team that turned in the day's best time (1:41.25).
Danielle Kahn, Jill Karacozoff, Erin Kilpatrick and Hannah Ryan turned in a 4:02.40 in that event. Junior Megan Storey then took first in the 1,000 freestyle (10:27.03) followed by Ryan in the 200 freestyle (1:55.76).
After frehsman Amy Osback won the 50 freestyle in 25.42, Schmied recorded her victories in back-to-back events. The Aztecs then finished out the individual events with first-place finishes by Stephanie Chambers (100 freestyle-1:01.82), Erin Kilpatrick (100 backstroke-1:01.82), Nicole Castelyn (500 freestyle-5:10.19) and Jill Karacozoff (100 breaststroke-1:06.70).
The Aztecs will remain on the road tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 25) as they travel to Malibu for a dual meet at Pepperdine beginning at 1:00 p.m.
