SAN DIEGO, Calif. (AP) - Evan Burns scored 21 points and Mike Mackell added 20 as San Diego State beat Florida Atlantic 91-75 Saturday night.
Mackell scored 16 of his points in the first half, going 6-for-9 from the floor. Burns hit 7 of 11 shots from the field, playing just 18 minutes.
The victory was the fourth in a row and the fifth in the last six games for San Diego State(6-3).
The loss was the fourth straight for Florida Atlantic(4-7).
The game was tied five times in the first half with eight lead changes. San Diego State took the lead for good on a 3-point play by Mackell with 11:36 remaining in the opening half.
In the second half, the Aztecs built their lead to as high as 21 points.
Travis Hanour, a transfer from Arizona, had 11 points for the Aztecs. Aerick Sanders had seven points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
Chris Thomas led Florida Atlantic with 19 points.
