San Diego State Closes Out 2002 With Another Non-Conference Game Saturday
The San Diego State women's basketball team looks to close out 2002, with a win over Cal State Northridge Saturday, as the two California schools renew their rivalry for the first time since 1992.
The Aztecs are coming off their second overtime loss this month, falling to Creighton, 79-72, back on Dec. 22. The Matadors, meanwhile, have yet to win a game this season, bringing an 0-9 record to Cox Arena, which includes losses to future and past SDSU opponents, Portland State (60-71), St. Mary's (59-67) and Wyoming (75-97).
SDSU owns a 7-1 lead in the all-time series, which includes a current seven-game win streak. CSU Northridge won the first meeting in overtime, 76-70, on Feb. 14, 1978.
