San Diego - San Diego State won 10 of 16 events Saturday afternoon en route to a 186-114 win over Air Force at the Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center. With the win, the Aztecs' season record improves to 2-5 overall and 1-4 in the Mountain West Conference. Air Force falls to 11-2 (0-2 MWC).
Two Aztecs set team season best marks during Saturday's contest. Hannah Ryan went 5:06.83 in the 500 free, improving her season best by some four second. In the 200 butterfly, Erin Kilpatrick improved her team-leading best time to 2:09.22.
Three members of the SDSU squad picked up a pair of first-places finishes in the events. Junior Jill Karacozoff won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke in times of 1:07.40 and 2:25.20 respectively. Freshman Emily Schmied was victorious in the 100 butterfly (59.03) and 200 individual medley (2:11.28) while teammate Hannah Ryan won both the 200 free (1:56.53) and the 500 free.
Up next for San Diego State is their final conference road trip of the year, as they will travel to Fort Collins, Colo., to take on Colorado State next Friday (Nov. 22) at 5:00 p.m. The following day, they will be in Laramie to face Wyoming at 1:00 p.m.
