Women's Golf Slips To 15th At Price's Give `Em Five Intercollegiate

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - For the first time this season, the San Diego State women's golf team failed to improve on its previous round as the Aztecs slipped to 15th place after the second round of the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate. SDSU dropped three spots in the standings after shooting 318 today, two strokes higher than their first-round 316, and currently stand at 58-over 634. Host school New Mexico State holds the 36-hole lead at 596, five shots ahead of second-place Baylor (601).

New Mexico State's Alena Sharp holds the individual lead at 1-under 143, three strokes better than her teammate Kelly Cavanaugh's total of 146.

With a team-low 76 today, junior Shayna Miyajima became the top Aztec in the standings at 11-over 155. Miyajima is tied for 31st, while teammates senior Claire Riley and freshman Toni Lutz are tied for 51st at 159. Among the Aztecs' other scores, senior Jennifer Hoene is tied for 69th at 162 and junior Sandy Kim shares 74th place at 163.

Play resumes tomorrow with a 7:30 a.m. MST shotgun start for the third and final round of the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate.
