Season Finale * The San Diego State women's soccer team (10-6-0, 2-3-0), will break from Mountain West Conference action for a 1 p.m. match with San Francisco on Thursday at the SDSU Sports Deck. * The Aztecs close out the 2002 regular season with a game againt MWC foe UNLV on Saturday, Nov. 2. The match is slated for a 1 p.m. start at the Sports Deck.

Home, Sweet Home * The Aztecs own a 6-1 record at the SDSU Sports Deck this year, with two more home games remaining on the schedule, San Francisco and UNLV. * Should SDSU defeat the Dons and Rebels, the 2002 team will own the program's best home record.

SDSU in the Mountain West * Since its arrival into the MWC in 1999, the Aztecs own a 15-12-1 (.554) record in league matches, and a 24-25 (.490) mark in non-conference games. * San Diego State was tabbed to finish fourth this year in the Moutain West. It currently sits in the No. 5 spot as SDSU enters its final week of regular-season league play. The Aztecs notched a fifth-place finish in the conference last year.

All-Star Arinda Alvarez * Although her goals weren't enough to secure Aztec victories, senior Arinda Alvarez scored SDSU's two goals last week, one each in the matches against Utah and BYU. * The Chula Vista, Calif., native is tied for second on the team with five goals and is third with 14 points. She has appeared in each of the Aztecs' 16 matches, getting the starting nod in 14. * Her career stats are impressive, considering her final season as an Aztec is only her second year on the team. She currently has seven goals, five assists and 40 shots for her career. * As a walk-on in 2001, Alvarez posted two goals and took 29 shots, starting 16 of the Aztecs' 18 contests.

Record Watching * Junior Kim Castellanos is climbing her way to the top of the SDSU record books. She is currently third in career goals with 26 and fifth in total points with 61. * Goalkeeper Stephanie Pearson is now in the career record books, as her 45 saves are sixth-most in Aztec season history.

Season Firsts * Senior defender Shawni Flint scored her first collegiate goal in SDSU's 2-1 victory over Wyoming on Oct. 18. * It was a game of season-firsts in SDSU's 5-1 win over Nevada, as four different Aztecs, Sheila Dayog, Jamie Harlor, Becky Prilaman and Boo Tinling, notched their first goals of the 2002 season. * Dayog's and Harlor's goals were also the first of their Aztec careers.

About San Francisco * The Aztecs and Dons have not met since the 1992 campaign when USF handed SDSU a 2-1 loss. The two teams are 1-1-1 all-time. * The Dons own an 8-7-1 record this season, 1-4 in West Coast Conference action. * USF is led by senior forward Caty Harris, who has knocked in four goals and taken 31 shots on the season. * San Francisco comes to San Diego fresh off a 2-1 victory over WCC rival Gonzaga.

Scouting UNLV * The Rebels' season stats are evenly matched to SDSU's, as UNLV has a 10-6-1 overall record and, like the Aztecs, are 2-3-0 in the Mountain West. * Twin teams? SDSU and UNLV have been almost identical in their MWC performances during the 2002 season. Here's a look at a few similarities between the two teams: * UNLV defeated Wyoming and Air Force by the same scores as SDSU, 2-1 and 1-0, respectively. The Rebels also lost to New Mexico in their MWC opener, 1-0. * UNLV is most recently coming off losses to BYU and Utah.
