Kickoff Time Set For Aztecs-Utes

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State will open the Mountain West Conference football season on Oct. 12th when it hosts the Utah Utes at Qualcomm Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.

The Aztecs are 0-5 on the season while the Utes enter the contest at a deceiving 2-3 after nail-biting losses to Arizona, Michigan and Air Force.

San Diego State will also have a 4 p.m. kickoff for Homecoming on Oct. 26th against UNLV.

The game against Utah will be part of Hall of Fame weekend at San Diego State. The 2002 class of inductees will be honored at a Friday night gathering in the Aztec Athletics Center and again at halftime of the Utah game. The weekend will also include the jersey retirement of former Aztec Willie Buchanon.

The 2002 Hall of Fame class includes former football player and coach Joe Gibbs, former football player Norm Nygaard, former women's basketball star Falisha Wright as well as two teams. The 1987 NCAA runner-up men's soccer team and the 1940-41 national champion men's basketball team will also be inducted.
