FULLERTON, Calif. - San Diego State's women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Cal State Fullerton Friday night. The loss ended the Aztecs' run of four consecutive wins and marks SDSU's second shutout of the season. The Aztecs now own a 5-2-0 record, while the Titans improved to 5-1-1 on the season. Friday's game was SDSU's first since Sept. 15.

Cal State Fullerton struck early en route to its victory over San Diego State. Freshman Marlene Sandoval knocked in the first goal of her collegiate career 18 minutes into the match. Three more Titans would put goals up for CSF, as seniors Michele Bannister and Kim Houg each knocked in one goal, with junior Nicole Mulakey adding the Titans' final goal in the 67th minute.

The Aztecs took 10 shots during the game, with junior Kim Castellanos taking a team-high three. SDSU took seven shots on goal, forcing Titan goalkeeper Karen Bardsley to tally seven saves. The Titans were equally on target, as Aztec keeper Stephanie Pearson registered five saves while Sophia Perez posted two.

"We really gave up some poor goals," said SDSU head coach Chuck Clegg. "As a team, it was not a good performance. But it's behind us and we need to focus now on our next game."

The Aztecs' next opponent is UC Santa Barbara. San Diego State will host the Gauchos on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Sports Deck.
