STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Sandy Kim used a 2-over par 74 during Sunday's final round at the Stanford Golf Course to climb from 27th all the way to 13th at 7-over 151. However it wasn't enough to lift the San Diego State women's golf team out of 10th place as the Aztecs shot a second-round 315 to finish the Peg Barnard Collegiate with a two-day total of 629.
No. 19 Washington, the only team to break 300 during both rounds, had three players finish in the top five and carded a combined 296 over the second round to hold on for the win with a final team score of 593. No. 18 California matched the Huskies' final-round score and finished up in second at 599. Led by individual medalist Mikaela Parmlid's 1-under 143, No. 14 USC took third with a final score of 600.
Aztec senior Heather Rollo, 41st after Saturday's opening round, also moved up in the final standings, carding a 6-over 78 Sunday to finish tied for 34th at 13-over 157. Sophomore Shayna Miyajima shot final-round 80 and wrapped up play one stroke behind Rollo, tied for 40th at 14-over 148.
Juniors Claire Riley and Jennifer Hoene finished 66th and 69th, respectively.
