LEBANON, Ore. - Senior Heather Rollo climbed from 37th to 19th with a final-round 72, leading the San Diego State women's golf team to its best round of the tournament as the Aztecs moved up one spot to finished in 10th place at the Oregon Duck Invitational with a combined 305 Friday at the Mallard Creek Golf Course.
San Diego State ended the tournament with a three-round total of 928. No. 16 Washington led the event wire-to-wire and captured the team title with a final score of 882. Idaho shot 903 to take second, with San Jose State edging San Francisco for third with a final score of 908.
Kim Welch of Washington State fired an even-par 216 to take medalist honors.
Shayna Miyajima, the only other Aztec to place in the top 20, equaled Rollo's final score of 228 and also finished in 19th. Sandy Kim, 15th after Thursday's opening two rounds, slide to 30th with a three-round total of 330.
Asa Jankler ended the tournament tied for 62nd, while Clarie Riley placed 65th.
The San Diego State women's golf team returns to the links April 8-9, when the Aztecs travel to St. George, Utah, for the Dixie Classic.
