SAN DIEGO - Fourth-ranked Tennessee claimed two three-set singles matches en route to a 4-2 victory over 51st-ranked San Diego State in the consolation round of the USTA/ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship on Friday in Louisville, Ky.

San Diego State junior Oliver Maiberger won at number one singles and number one doubles but it wasn't enough as the Aztecs suffered their third consecutive defeat to a top 10 team. In addition to Maiberger, the Aztecs also got a victory in number four singles by Travis Hasson. The senior recorded a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory to give the Aztecs two victories in singles. Maiberger, ranked 11th nationally in singles, posted a 6-4, 6-3 win.

The Volunteers took the lead with a three-set victory in number five singles and clinched the match when 67th-ranked Mark Dietrich held off Valentino Pest, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (0).

The Aztecs will face their fourth consecutive top 10 opponent on Saturday when SDSU faces eighth-ranked SMU in the consolation round of the indoor championships.
