SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Sophomore Sandy Kim carded a final round 75 to finish in fourth place with a two-day score of 153, but it wasn't enough to lift San Diego State out of 10th place as the Aztecs shaved four strokes of their opening round score to close out the 2002 Lady Aztec Spring Invitational with a two-round total of 656 Monday at the Lake San Marcos Country Club (par 73).

Colorado State held onto its opening day lead to capture the team tournament title by two strokes over No. 20 Washington. The Rams, who combined to card a final round 318, finished up at 626 and just barely survived a furious charge by the Huskies (628), whose 306 on Monday was the best team round of the two-day event.

No. 22 Kent State improved its score by five from Sunday's opening round and finished at 633 to take third. No. 14 Michigan, the tournament's highest ranked squad and a four-tournament winner during the fall season, was 10 back of the Golden Flashes in fourth at 643.

UNLV's Hwanhee Lee carded the day's best individual round, a 1-over 74, and climbed from third to take medalist honors with a final scored of 4-over 150. Mayumi Motoyama (151) of CSU and Stella Lee (152), the opening round leader from UC Irvine, rounded out the top 3 individuals.

Aztec senior Heather Rollo (168) was the only other San Diego State golfer to crack the top 50 as sophomore Shayna Miyajima and juniors Claire Riley and Jennifer Hoene all tied for 59th at 169.

The San Diego State women's golf team returns to action Feb. 25-26, when the Aztecs travel to north to the Bay Area Classic.
