LARAMIE, Wyo. - Tony Bland scored 19 points and Randy Holcomb added 15 to lead San Diego State to a 68-64 upset over Wyoming in Mountain West Conference play Monday.

Al Faux added 12 for San Diego State (16-10, 5-6 MWC), which notched its first win in Laramie in 11 years by staving off a furious rally by the Cowboys.

Josh Davis had 19 while Marc Bailey, who sat out the first half with the flu, added 11 and Donta Richardson 10 for Wyoming (17-6, 8-2).

San Diego State went up 47-29 on a long jumper by Holcomb two minutes into the second half and still led 65-52 after a layup by Bland with 5:18 remaining.

The Cowboys, led by Davis and Bailey, then launched a rally that was foiled when the Aztecs forced four straight missed shots in the final minute.

Davis soared to grab an offensive rebound and slam it home and then scored on a reverse layup to draw Wyoming within 68-64 with 1:03 left.

After a miss by Bland, Wyoming's Paris Corner missed a jumper that was rebounded by the Aztecs' Mike Mackell, who was whistled for traveling as he fell.

In the final 24 seconds, Richardson missed two 3-point attempts and Bailey missed a 12-foot jumper for the Cowboys.

Bailey ignited the near comeback with a end-to-end drive, layup and free throw to trim the lead to 65-55 with 4:41 left.

Bland scored 13 points in the first half as San Diego State thoroughly dominated and took a 41-25 lead at intermission.

The Cowboys led only twice, 2-0 and 4-2.
