SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Like most of the field at the Lady Aztec Spring Invitational, the San Diego State women's golf team struggled with the cold and rainy conditions at Lake San Marcos Country Club (Par 73).
Sophomore Sandy Kim was the only Aztec to break 80 as SDSU combined to shoot 330, good for 10th place. Kim, who shot 5-over 78 heads into Tuesday's second and final round tied for eighth.
Colorado State had three players finish in the top 5 as the Rams sprinted out to the early team lead with a combined team total of 16-over 308.
No. 22 Kent State, which shot 319, stands in second followed by Denver in third at 321.
Fourteenth-ranked Michigan, the field's highest ranked team and a winner in all four of its fall tournaments, has some ground to make up and stands in seventh at 324. No. 20 Washington finished fifth at 322, 13 strokes off CSU's pace.
UC Irvine's Stella Lee carded a 1-over 74 and is the individual leader as none of the 103 player were able to break par.
