SAN DIEGO - The 44th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team ran its home winning streak to eight with a 5-2 victory over Oregon on Sunday afternoon at the SDSU Courts.
The Aztecs improved to 3-2 on the season and handed the Ducks their first loss in six matches this season.
San Diego State won the doubles point, getting victories from Katja Karrento and Katalina Romero at number two doubles and Julie Chidley and Indra Erichsen at number three doubles. The Aztecs' 60th-ranked doubles team of Lindsey Hedberg and Silvia Tornier were defeated at number one doubles.
The Aztecs claimed victories in four of the six singles matches. Tornier, Hedberg and Karrento claimed victories at the top three singles positions and Romero added a victory at number six singles.
San Diego State will be back in action on Saturday when the Aztecs play host to Pacific in the middle match of a three-match homestand.
