The Records: San Diego State is 12-8 and 1-4 in conference play after claiming a 78-66 decision over Conference USA-member Houston on Tuesday night at Cox Arena. New Mexico is 13-6 overall and 3-2 in league play after a 70-64 win at Colorado State on Monday evening.

SDSU Coach Steve Fisher: Fisher (Illinois State '67) is in his third season at San Diego State with a record of 31-45. Now in his 11th full season he has amassed a 215-127 mark. Fisher led Michigan to the 1989 national championship and made three trips to the national championship game in his eight full seasons in Ann Arbor. The 1991-92 national coach of the year led the Aztecs to a 14-14 mark last year.

New Mexico Coach Fran Fraschilla: Fraschilla (Brooklyn College '80) has a 52-33 record in his third season at New Mexico. Fraschilla, who has also coached at Manhattan and St. John's, is in his ninth season overall with a 172-92 overall record.

The Series: Saturday will mark the 48th meeting between the teams with New Mexico owning a 30-17 series advantage. The Lobos have won 10 straight in the series and 16 straight meetings in The Pit, where New Mexico owns a 20-3 lifetime advantage.
