SDSU Coach Steve Fisher: Fisher (Illinois State '67) is in his third season at San Diego State with a record of 24-40. Now in his 11th full seasons he has amassed a 208-122 mark. Fisher led Michigan to the 1989 national championships and made three trips to the national championship game in his eight full seasons in Ann Arbor. The 1991-92 national coach of the year led the Aztecs to a 14-14 mark last year.
Hawai'i Coach Riley Wallace: Wallace Centenary '64) is in his 15th season at Hawai'i with a 221-199 record. In his 17th season overall, Wallace is 236-226. Wallace has guided the Rainbow Warriors to the postseason in three of the last five seasons including the NCAA tournament last year.
The Series: Hawai'i leads the all-time series 27-17 although the Aztecs won the most recent game played between the two and three of the last four contests. The teams met twice a year from the 1981-82 season through the 1998-99 campaign. The Aztecs won the most recent game between the two, a 78-72 decision at Cox Arena on Feb. 20, '99.
