Senior Farewell
San Diego State fans will say goodbye to seniors Katie Magnuson and Nadia Privara as they return home for their final two games.
Magnuson has been a huge factor in the Aztecs game plan this season. She leads the team in digs with 2.77 digs per game and is second in the kill category with 3.03 kills per game.
Privara has played in eight matches with three starts. She has totaled 25 kills, six aces and three blocks in her senior campaign.
On The Wright Path
Melissa Wright has been a consistent aspect of the Aztec team this season. Wright's 855 assists in the season and 2,180 career assists have moved her to fifth on the Aztecs all-time assist list.
Wright has started 21 of the 22 matches this season and is currently third in the Mountain West against conference opponents with 11.82 assists per game and fourth overall with 11.55 assists per game. Her lone double-double of the season was against Wyoming on Sept. 30, with 48 assists and 10 digs.
SDSU vs. Ranked Teams
San Diego State has not had much luck against ranked opponents this season. In fact, the Aztecs are 0-7 against ranked teams during the 2001 campaign and have only won two games in those seven matches.
The Aztecs will have two more chances this weekend to improve that record with 15th-ranked Utah and 16th- ranked BYU.
Off The Pine
The Aztecs have received a fair amount of help from the bench this year. Junior Rochelle Currier has registered 47 kills, 47 digs, four aces and five blocks as a non-starter. Sophomore Robyn Gregg has made her presence known at the serving line. Of the 172 aces by the Aztecs this season, Gregg has accounted for 65 of those.
Fountain of Youth
Of the Aztec's starting line-up youth is definitely an advantage. Senior Katie Magnuson is accompained by juniors Melissa Wright and Nicole Akporiaye and sophomores Aspen McPartland, Megan Schauermann and Zlatina Anguelova.
