SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior forward Enrique Tovar has been named to the 2001 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas all-Far West second team.
Tovar ended the 2001 season tied for the Aztecs' lead in points with 19 (six goals, seven assists) and earned first-team all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors.
The San Jose native was also named the MPSF's player of the week on Oct. 1 and scored the fastest goal in school history versus UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 6, finding the net just 15 seconds into the match.
Tovar, who transferred to SDSU from De Anza College prior to his junior season, closed out his two years with the Aztec program with 10 goals and 13 assists (33 points).
