Aztecs Wrap Up Regular Season With A Win

TUCSON, Ariz. - Despite a somewhat rocky year, the San Diego State women's volleyball team couldn't ask for a better way to end the regular season, with a win. The Aztecs did just that with a 3-1 triumph over the Denver Pioneers at the University of Arizona Tournament in Tucson, Ariz. The Aztecs won 24-30, 30-18, 30-18, 30-17.

Three Aztecs finished the match with double-doubles. Senior Katie Magnuson totaled 15 kills and 12 digs along with all-tournament honors. Sophomore Zlatina Anguelova registered 16 kills and 18 digs, while fellow sophomore Aspen McPartland tallied 11 kills and 11 digs. Junior Rochelle Currier notched 10 kills against the Pioneers.

SDSU closed the match with 64 kills, a .322 clip and 10 total team blocks versus Denver's 45 kills and .133 hitting clip. The win gives the Aztecs a 16-12 overall record and drops the Pioneers to 13-18 on the season.
