SAN DIEGO - Larry Ned ran for 209 yards and four touchdowns and coach Ted Tollner won his final game at San Diego State as the Aztecs beat Wyoming 38-16 on Saturday night.

The Aztecs (3-8, 2-5 Mountain West) ended a five-game losing streak to match their overall record from last season. Tollner, dismissed on Monday, was 43-48 in eight seasons at the school.

Wyoming (2-8, 0-7) lost its 15th straight conference game, extending to its last game of the 1999 season.

Ned, who set a school record with 47 carries, finished the season with 1,549 yards rushing, third-best in school history. He closed his four-year career with 3,562 yards, second on the school's list behind Marshall Faulk's 4,589 from 1991-93.

Ned scored on rushes of 1, 2, 33, and 2 yards. His 33-yarder put San Diego State up 28-16 with 9:33 left in the third quarter.

Casey Bramlet completed 21 of 39 passes for 307 yards for Wyoming, but also threw six interceptions, tying a Cowboys record.

Safety Garret Pavelko had two interceptions and a fumble recovery for San Diego State, which forced nine turnovers in all. Five came in the first half, when the Aztecs built a 21-10 lead.

The Aztecs gave up a safety on the first possession of the game, when a snap went out of the end zone in punt formation. They regained the ball when Hubert Caliste recovered the ensuing free kick at the Cowboys 34, and Ned scored on a a 1-yard run eight plays later.

Wyoming regained the lead 10-7 on a 1-yard TD run by Bramlet with 4:47 left in the first quarter. On their next possession, the Cowboys moved to the San Diego State 1 on a 17-yard reception by Malcolm Floyd, but he fumbled on the next play and Pavelko recovered for the Aztecs.

Ned's 2-yard TD rush with 8:16 left in the second put the Aztecs up for good at 14-10.
