SAN DIEGO - Just one night after knocking off No. 14 Utah in a five-game battle, the Aztecs fell victim to the Brigham Young Cougars in a 3-0 sweep at Peterson Gym. Game scores were 28-30, 27-30, 25-30.
The Aztecs were led by senior Katie Magnuson with 14 kills, followed by junior Rochelle Currier with 12 kills and sophomore Aspen McPartland with 10 kills.
The Aztecs finished the match with 48 kills and 14 total team blocks for a .140 clip versus the Cougar's 48 kills, 18 total team blocks and .273 hitting clip.
The Aztecs will travel to Provo, Utah for the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The tournament will begin on Thursday when the Aztecs, as the fourth seed, will take on the fifth seed at a time to be determined.
