SDSU Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Pepperdine Tourney

SOMIS, Calif - The San Diego State men's golf team rebounded from a first-day eighth-place finish to take fourth at the Pepperdine Club Glove Intercollegiate. The team finished the tournament with a three-round total of 902.

The Aztecs were led by Brandon Kearney with a seven-over par performance of 223 with rounds of 76, 75 and 72. Lars Johansson finished 21st after firing rounds of 75-77-73 at nine-over par for a 225. The Aztecs came back the second day of the tournament with a 296 after first day combined rounds of 303 and 303.

Pepperdine claimed its own tournament with an 874. Every golfer on the Pepperdine team finished in the top 25 and were led by Jason Allred's first-place finish of 216. Allred was the only golfer to finish even.

The Aztecs will swing back into action when they host the Aztec Invitational at Barona Creek Country Club, Nov. 4-6.
