SDSU Men's Soccer Loses To No. 23 UCLA

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's soccer team had its three-match win streak snapped Sunday losing to 23rd-ranked UCLA, 2-1, at the Sports Deck.

UCLA (4-4-2) scored first when freshman Aaron Lopez found the net just 5:22 into the match. SDSU (4-5-1) tied things up just 33 seconds later on a goal by sophomore Kevin Sapanli. The goal, which was Sapanli's fifth of the year, was assisted by senior Aaron Frimkess. The Bruins took the lead for good at the 14:58 mark with a goal by sophomore Matt Taylor.

Aztec goalkeeper Brian Barnes spent all 90 minutes in goal and recorded seven saves. UCLA keeper Zach Wells picked up the win and one save.

SDSU wraps up its six-match homestand with Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matches against Denver on Friday at 4 p.m and Air Force on Sunday at 2 p.m.
