LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The San Diego State women's golf team combined to record its lowest round of the three-day Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate at the New Mexico State Golf Course Wednesday. However, it wasn't enough to help SDSU gain any ground in the standings as the Aztecs finished the third and final round right where they started in 10th place with a final score of 65-over par 929.
Arizona State and Baylor tied for the team top spot at 6-over 870. The Bears, however captured the tournament title after a one-hole tiebreaker.
Individually, Jimin Kang wrapped up her wire-to-wire individual victory with a final-round 67 to finish at 11-under 205. Kang was among just three golfers to complete the 54-hole event below par.
Shayna Miyajima, who climbed 10 spots to finish tied for 33rd at 13-over par 229, turned in the best third-round score for the Aztecs with a 2-over 74, as SDSU carded a combined 307 for the day.
Heather Rollo was San Diego State's top finisher, closing out the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 76 to take 25th at 11-over 227.
SDSU's other three golfers, Claire Riley, Sandy Kim and Brooke Marshall, placed 51st, 55th, and 67th, respectively.
The San Diego State women's golf team returns to action on Oct. 30-31 when the Aztecs travel to Hawaii's Kapolei Golf Course for the Wahine Fall Classic.
