CORVALLIS, Ore. - The San Diego State men's soccer team lost, 4-1, to Oregon State Sunday in the final match of the Diadora Classic held on the OSU campus.
After a scoreless first half, Oregon State (2-4-0) took the lead at the 47:52 mark. The score remained 1-0 until the Beavers chipped in two more at 70:16 and 71:15.
SDSU (1-4-1) spoiled the shutout at 77:20 when sophomore Kevin Sapanli rebounded a ball off the post to score his second goal of the weekend. Oregon State would close the day's scoring with another at 79:33.
Junior Brian Barnes spent all 90 minutes in goal for the Aztecs, recording 11 saves in the outing.
SDSU returns to San Diego for five-straight home matches. The Aztecs meet UC Riverside, Friday at 1 p.m., and Brown Sunday at 4 p.m.
