RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Paced by two top-30 finishes the San Diego State women's cross country team finished 10th in a 25-team field Saturday at the UC Riverside Invitational.
The Aztecs were led by junior Alicia Stewart who placed 29th with a time of 19:34 and junior Jennifer Stakiw's 30th-place finish of 19:35.
The next Aztec pair to cross the finish line was senior Amanda Vielbaum (59th) at 20:07 and sophomore Allison Brown (60th) with a 20:08 time.
SDSU, which competed for the first time since Sept. 1, finished the event with 266 points. UC Irvine took the meet's top spot with 41 points. CSU Northridge (76) and Southern California (100) rounded out the top three.
SDSU returns to action next Saturday when it travels to Palo Alto, Calif., for the Stanford Invitational.
