Aztec Volleyball Swept by Loyola Marymount

LOS ANGELES - The San Diego State women's volleyball team dropped to 6-2 after being swept by Loyola Marymount, Tuesday night in Los Angeles. The Lions beat the Aztecs with games of 30-20, 30-28 and 30-23.

Sophomore Zlatina Anguelova registered a double-double and led the team with 12 kills and 13 digs on the night. Anguelova was the only Aztec to reach double-digits in both kills and digs. Utah State transfer Rochelle Currier was second with eight kills followed by Nicole Akporiaye with four kills.

The Lions were led by Eleftheria Koukou with a 16-kill performance and a .419 hitting percentage. Dina Debernardi followed with 10 kills and .333 hitting percentage.

The Aztecs tallied 8.5 total team blocks and a .086 hitting percentage versus nine team blocks and a .238 hitting percentage by LMU.

The Aztecs will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., Sept. 20 to battle the Air Force Falcons and then to Albuquerque to face New Mexico on Sept. 22.
