Aztecs Take Game Two Against Ramblers

SAN DIEGO -  The San Diego State women's volleyball team continues to roll with a three-game sweep of Loyola-Chicago in the first match of the second day at the Inn Suites Invitational inside Peterson Gym.

The Aztecs won their second match by scores of 30-26, 30-27 and 30-23. The team saw contribution from several players including the 15 kills from junior Nicole Akporiaye, 14 digs from sophomore Aspen McPartland and four service aces from sophomore Robyn Gregg. Sophomore Megan Schauermann exploded on the defensive side with two solo blocks and four block assists. As a team, San Diego State hit .302 versus the Ramblers' .195.

Loyola was led by Lauren Mikos, who tallied eight kills and 10 digs in the game.

The tournament concludes when the Aztecs and the Toreros face off at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Peterson Gym, on the SDSU campus.
