Track Travels To Mt. SAC Relays

The San Diego State track program travels to Walnut, Calif., for the prestigious Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) Relays Thursday-Sunday. The Aztecs come off a first-place finish in the All-Women Invitational this past weekend at the Choc Sportsman Oval at the SDSU Sports Deck. Eighteen members of the Aztec squad will be competing in this weekend's event. Senior Aja Frary and sophomore Leslie Miller will start the competition Thursday and Friday in the heptathlon, which will be held at nearby Azusa Pacific. The remainder of SDSU athletes will compete Fri.-Sun. at Mt. SAC.

Recapping The All-Women Invitational
The Aztecs come off a strong showing at the All-Women Invitational this past weekend in San Diego. The team captured eight of the 19 events it competed in and combined for a total of 168 points, helping them cruise to a victory in the five-team field. SDSU wracked up the majority of its points in sprint and middle distance events, winning four of five races. Senior Promise Mose and junior Kylie Edwards led the way picking up two wins apiece. Mose ran a season-best 24.81 to capture the 200-meter and followed that up with a time of 55.00 to take the 400 meters. Edwards, outdistanced the field in both the 800 and 1,500 meters. The Aztecs also went 1-2 in the 100-meter hurdles as both junior Davetta Shepherd (13.75) and senior Marisa Robinson (13.83) clocked their fastest times of the year in the event. Shepherd also took second in the 100-meter dash with a season-best mark of 12.16. Senior Aimee Crabtree cleared 12-04.00 to win the pole vault and Aja Frary won the long jump with a leap of 20-01.75.

Things to Come
SDSU will spend next weekend in Irvine at the Cal-Nevada State Championships. The event will be hosted by UC Irvine starting at 10 a.m.
