Men's Tennis Defeats Utah

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team (8-9, 2-0 MWC) defeated Utah 5-1, Saturday afternoon at the SDSU Tennis Courts.

SDSU won the doubles point for the third-straight day. Aztecs Travis Hasson and Matt Bere defeated Kevin Zenger and Daniel Carlsson of Utah, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles and Michael Coehlo and Khalid Naffa of SDSU defeated Corrie Scheepers and Tyler Poulson of Utah, 8-5, at No. 3 doubles. The San Diego State duo of Oliver Maiberger and Adam Webster (6-1) recorded their first loss of the season to Nicholas Yip and David Mercier of Utah, 8-6, at the No. 1 position.

The Aztecs won four of the singles matches to claim the victory. Maiberger won his twelfth-straight match at the No. 1 position by beating Zenger, 6-0, 6-1.

The Aztecs will get their third dose of Mountain West action Sunday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m. at the SDSU Tennis Courts.
