Final Heptathlon Results - Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - San Diego State's Aja Frary swept to victory in the final three events of the women's heptathlon Thursday at the Florida Relays, but it wasn't enough to lift the senior past Brown's Lindsay Taylor in the final standings.

Frary, who captured gold in the long jump (19-3/4), javelin (110-05) and 800-meter run (2:16.19), finished with 5,295 total points, just 83 points behind Taylor's total of 5,378.

Though not a personal best, the point total was a collegiate -high for Frary, who won the 1999 Western Athletic Conference heptathlon title with a previous collegiate-best of 5,152.

Individual track and field events at the 2001 Florida Relays begin Friday and wrap up Saturday night.
