Women's Crew Takes Parker Cup Regatta

LOS ANGELES - The San Diego State women's crew team got its 2001 season underway Saturday sweeping all three races at the Parker Cup Regatta held at Ballona Creek.

The Aztecs won the varsity eight with a time of 7:03, the women's junior-varsity eight with a 7:30 finish and the novice eight with a 7:17 time.

Saturday marked the second-straight year the Aztecs have swept the Parker Cup.

The team continues its schedule next weekend traveling to the East coast for a competition with Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday and a scrimmage with George Washington in Washington, D.C., on Sunday.
