Junior right-fielder Tiffany Goudy collected three hits and drove in two runs while senior pitcher Sandra Durazo pitched a complete game for her sixth victory of the season as San Diego State defeated Boston College 5-2 in the Aztec Invitational Friday afternoon.
Trailing 1-0 in the fourth, the Aztecs struck for three runs. Goudy tied the game with a one-out single down the right field line. After an error led to the go ahead run, center fielder Janna Kovensky singled in a run to give San Diego State a 3-1 lead.
That was all Durazo needed. The Granada Hills, Calif., native pitched seven innings allowing six hits and only one earned run. Durazo struck out five batters and issued just two walks in improving to 6-3.
San Diego State is now 8-8 while Boston College falls to 6-7.
