San Diego State Falls To Colorado St., 77-56

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - John Sivesind scored 17 points and Ron Grady added 16 points and 10 rebounds as Colorado State defeated San Diego State for the 17th consecutive time at home, winning 77-56 Monday night.

Sivesind, the school's all-time leader in 3-pointers with 198, was 3-for-6 on treys. Garrett Patik had 15 points and nine rebounds for Colorado State (13-7, 4-3 Mountain West), which last lost to San Diego State (11-9, 1-6) in Fort Collins on Jan. 23, 1982.

Randy Holcomb led San Diego State with 11 points and Marcelo Correa followed with 10 points. The Aztecs shot 38 percent while losing for the seventh straight time on the road.

Andy Birley scored eight points and Colorado State hit 12 of its first 16 shots to take a 28-7 lead. San Diego State, 3-for-14 in the same stretch, regrouped and came within 31-15 with 7:15 left in the half.

Colorado State cooled off shooting 47 percent for the half. Patik and Ron Grady had a trey each during the last 5:17 and the Rams took a 41-23 lead into halftime.

Patik's two 3-pointers early in the second half and Grady's basket off an offensive rebound made it 55-35 with 14:07 left. San Diego State with the help of two 3-pointers by Karlo Kovacic got as close as 55-43.

Sivesind's 3-pointer with 10:50 ended the run and his final trey of the game with 2:41 left gave Colorado State a 74-54 lead and finished San Diego State.
