WAHIAWA, Hawaii - The No. 22 San Diego State men's golf team finished 10th of 19 teams at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii at the Leilehua Golf Course.
The Aztecs shot a three-round total of 869 after shooting a 288 on today's final round. They shot a 291 and a 290 in the first and second rounds, respectively. Mountain West foe New Mexico won the event with a 832 (282-271-279).
SDSU sophomore John Lieber turned in the Aztecs top finish with a 213 (72-70-71), placing 20th. Sophomore Lars Johansson turned the next best finish in 36th with a 217 (73-74-70). Michael Letzig of New Mexico won individualist medal honors with a 199 (66-64-69).
The Aztecs are back in action at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, hosted by UC Santa Barbara, March 5-6.
