San Diego State Downs Air Force, 62-48

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - San Diego State's Randy Holcomb scored 24 points to lead the Aztecs to a 62-48 win Monday in Mountain West Conference play.

It was San Diego State's (12-12, 2-9 MWC) first conference road win since Feb 4. 1998. It snapped a 24-game conference road losing streak and a six game losing season losing streak.

The Aztecs used their size to their advantage. Air Force (7-17, 2-8) tried to counter inside but got into foul trouble instead.

Trailing 10-6 with 12:48 left in the first half, the Aztecs got a 3-pointer by Deandre Moore (8 points) that started a 24-10 run that saw them enter the break leading 30-20.

Air Force closed the gap to 47-41 with 6:22 to play but couldn't get any closer with three starters in foul trouble. Within a one and a half minute period early in the second half, Air Force's Jarvis Croff, Tom Bellairs and Joel Gerlach got their fourth fouls of the game.

Croff, along with Lamoni Yazzie, led the Falcons with 16 points each.

The Falcons shot just 33 percent from the field and just 26 percent from 3-point range in the game.
