Women's Tennis Gets Two In A Row

IRVINE, Calif. - The 29th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team won its second match in as many days defeating 58th-ranked UC Irvine, 6-1, Saturday. The Aztecs improve their record to 4-2 on the year.

SDSU started things off with a sweep of doubles play when its No. 1 pair of Silvia Tornier and Lindsey Hedberg defeated UCI's Darian Chappell and Jonni Seymour, 9-7. The Aztecs' lone loss of the outing came in the No. 1 singles spot with Tornier being defeated by the Anteaters' Seymour, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. The Aztecs quickly rebounded winning the next five singles matches in straight sets.

The Aztecs next compete Feb. 24 (Sat.) when seventh-ranked Pepperdine visits Montezuma Mesa for a noon match.
